						Question Title:		Dog won't sleep due to pain/discomfort after being spayed.

Our 10 month old puppy (red cattle x golden retriever) was spayed 2 days ago and has been in pain and discomfort since the anesthaesia has worn off, now she can't sleep because the wound hurts/irritates her when she lies down (even when she lays on her side). She is not responding to pain killer medication and has been falling asleep standing up but cant stay asleep because she falls over.
What harmful effects can arise from canine sleep deprivation? If she can't sleep will it make her sick or stop the healing process from the surgery?
She is a very anxious and sensitive girl, she always has been.
